Objective:
The Sales Specialist will be a key member of the Sales Admin Parts Team within the Forklift Division at BYD Europe. Acting as the main link between the Sales Admin team and the PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) team, this role ensures all necessary components are available and aligned with unit adaptations or changes. The specialist will coordinate with the warehouse to secure parts as needed, conduct monthly on-site inventory checks, and monitor stock levels for key components like chargers and cabins. In addition, the role supports broader sales admin functions, including the tracking of parts backorders and working closely with the Parts Specialist to resolve supply delays. Flexibility, initiative, and strong coordination skills are essential.

Location and Work Setup:
This is a full-time, in-office position based at BYD Europe’s headquarters in Schiedam, the Netherlands. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.

Reporting Line:
The Sales Specialist will report directly to the Manager of the Sales Administration Department for the Forklift Division at BYD Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact between the Sales Admin team and the PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) team to coordinate all unit changes and adaptations.
  1. Ensure the PDI team has all required components available to perform modifications to forklifts in a timely and accurate manner.
  1. When parts are missing, coordinate with the warehouse to source and deliver the necessary items to the PDI team.
  1. Perform monthly visits to the warehouse to verify physical inventory held by the PDI team and help identify restocking needs.
  1. Monitor and ensure that stock levels of critical components (e.g., chargers and cabins) are in line with dealer orders, while maintaining a buffer for potential new orders.
  1. Conduct weekly checks on backordered parts older than one week without an ETA and follow up to ensure progress.
  1. Work closely with the Parts Specialist to identify and implement solutions for parts with missing or delayed ETAs.
  1. As part of the Sales Admin Parts Team, support additional tasks and coordination activities as needed to ensure operational flow and efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail — essential for ensuring unit modifications are executed correctly and on time.
  • A true customer-first mindset, understanding that behind every missing part is a dealer, a broken machine, or a stalled operation.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to stay composed under pressure and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong coordination skills, especially for managing unit adaptations, inventory levels, and timely PDI operations.
  • A team player with a collaborative attitude and willingness to support others across departments.
  • Flexible and adaptable, open to taking on additional tasks depending on evolving business needs.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); other European languages are considered a plus.
  • Assertive communicator — polite but confident, able to manage challenges constructively and professionally.
  • High sense of ownership and accountability, with a commitment to quality and follow-through.

What We Offer:

  • A full-time position in a dynamic and growing international company.
  • 25 holidays per year.
  • A supportive manager who provides guidance, autonomy, and space to grow.
  • A chance to work closely with both technical and sales teams, gaining hands-on experience in operational coordination.
  • A friendly, open-minded team with a collaborative and flexible work culture.
  • Opportunities to contribute directly to the efficiency and quality of our delivery process for customers across Europe.
  • The opportunity to be part of a globally recognized brand in the green energy and mobility sector.
