Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Support Specialist (Data) to join our dynamic Aftersales team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the tender process for our electric bus solutions, supporting the preparation of competitive and accurate bids. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Sales, Tender, and Finance teams) and external customers to ensure tenders meet the highest standards of quality and responsiveness. Responsibilities:

• Tender Preparation and Analysis:
  • Support the Tender Specialist in all aspects of tender preparation, including quotation calculations, data collection, and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive life cycle cost (LCC) models for our electric bus products, incorporating factors such as energy consumption, maintenance, and residual value.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the pricing process, including streamlining workflows, enhancing templates, and developing best practices.
  • Collect feedback from customers and colleagues to identify areas for improvement in our quotation offer.
  • Periodically review ongoing and past quotations to identify trends.
• Pricing and Cost Analysis:
  • As a key member of the pricing team, calculate TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and LCC (Life Cycle Cost), taking into account factors such as vehicle price, charging infrastructure, energy costs, maintenance, and operational expenses.
  • Optimize pricing strategies by staying abreast of product upgrades, technological advancements in the electric vehicle industry, competitor analysis, and cost analysis.
  • Conduct detailed pricing data analysis by comparing estimated costs with actual costs to identify areas for cost optimization and improve the accuracy of future bids.
  • Streamline and enhance internal operational procedures related to pricing, cost tracking, and data analysis.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience with 2+ years of experience in finance, sales support, or analytical role, preferably in the automotive or transportation industry.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and perform detailed calculations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and macros) for data analysis and pricing modeling.
  • Experience with LCC (Life Cycle Cost) and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) calculations.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Position within the company

• The Business Support Specialist is part of the European Commercial Vehicle After-Sales Service Department of BYD Europe B.V. and reports to the Business Support Supervisor.
