For a global client in the fashion industry based in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Technical Developer, Women's Woven Blocks. You’ll play a key role in establishing and refining core pattern blocks to ensure exceptional fit, consistency, and efficiency, while driving seasonal silhouette developments across a global supply base. Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable products that meet ambitious technical KPIs. Deadline for submissions is Thursday 14th August at 12:00.

The Department and Team

The Technical Development team develops and delivers both innovative and sustainable products, handling the entire technical development process from initial concept through to physical garments. Closely partnering with several stakeholders, from PD (Product Development), design & merchandising, through to the global team, the team pioneers high quality & product excellence, while delivering on company & divisional KPI’s.    

The Position:

The ideal candidate, skilled and knowledgeable in technical apparel development, will be responsible for establishing and improving woven pattern blocks to ensure consistency, fit quality, and efficiency for future styles, while supporting the creation and maintenance of block libraries and driving the development of new seasonal silhouettes across the global supply base.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess current woven blocks to identify gaps, fit issues, and improvement opportunities; align on target fits and priorities with Design, Technical, Product Development, and Merchandising teams.
  • Develop or refine priority woven blocks (shirts, pants, dresses & skirts) through sample creation, fittings, and feedback-driven adjustments, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
  • Update new blocks in PLM with global fit grading, link to seasonal styles, and maintain complete, accurate, and timely system data.
  • Finalize approved blocks with updated technical files, upload to shared systems, and provide an accessible, clearly labeled pattern/block library and overview document.
  • Lead fit meetings, record and communicate changes internally and externally, and ensure adherence to critical paths for on-time seasonal development and production.
  • Deliver improved, approved woven blocks with graded specifications for seasonal lines.
  • Achieve technical KPIs, including fit improvement, grading projects, reduced overdevelopment, and enhanced quality, in partnership with the other teams.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A bachelor/ master’s degree in fashion, garment technology, pattern cutting or equivalent experience in fashion, clothing or textiles industry.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Technical Product Development.
  • Product knowledge of woven blocks (shirts, pants, dresses & skirts) is a must.
  • Experience in PLM software.
  • Effective communication skills: inclusive team player, interdepartmental collaboration. 
  • Able to work in a highly productive, fast paced environment with a hands-on approach.
  • Self-driven, pragmatic, and a business mind set. 
  • Strong command of written & spoken English.
