If you’ve got deep experience in silicon photonics design, especially high-speed modulators, and want to lead cutting-edge work that actually gets manufactured and used, this one’s worth your attention.

This remote role is all about solving complex design challenges in integrated photonics. You’ll be collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary design team on next-generation transceivers for the data center market, pushing bandwidth higher while driving power and cost down.

You won’t just be hands-on with design and layout. You’ll lead. You’ll shape the roadmap. And you’ll mentor others to get it done right, fast.

What you’ll be doing

·Designing, modelling, and laying out advanced silicon photonic circuits

·Leading a small but highly capable team of designers

·Tuning for manufacturability across corners and thermal shifts

·Working alongside testing teams to plan, validate, and refine device performance

·Taking a full design cycle from concept to tested silicon, with real impact on next-gen infrastructure

What you’ll need

·A strong track record designing high-speed silicon photonic modulators (and ideally receivers too)

·At least 5 years of intensive design experience in industry or applied research

·Deep knowledge of passive and active planar waveguide optics

·PhD or MSc in a relevant field

·Bonus: Lab measurement experience
