About the Role

We are partnering with a fast-growing technology business to hire a Director of Technology. This is a senior leadership role for someone who can set the technical direction, guide expert architects, and align technology strategy with business goals.

The company develops complex hardware and software systems used in mission-critical applications across industries such as defense, energy, and industrial sensing.

This role is about shaping the future, building architecture strategy, managing technical risks, and driving innovation, not day-to-day R&D management.

Key Responsibilities

Define and execute the technology and architecture roadmap.
Oversee architectural decisions across hardware, electronics, mechanics, and software.
Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies.
Build and mentor a team of architects and domain experts.
Partner with product, operations, and leadership to deliver scalable, secure solutions.
Champion engineering excellence, process maturity, and continuous improvement.

Your Profile

Strong background across hardware, electronics, mechanics, and software integration.
Proven experience in industrial hardware / high-reliability environments (defense, aerospace, subsea, energy, advanced engineering).
Skilled at managing ecosystems, technical partners, and supply chains.
Experience with long-cycle B2B or government projects.
Excellent communicator, able to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
10+ years’ experience in technology leadership, architecture, or system engineering.
