QUALITY MANAGER RIDAM (24-36 hours)
One of my long-term international clients, a global company in consumer goods
() headquartered in Breukelen, for whom I work as a corporate recruiter, is looking for a Quality Manager/Coordinator. If you enjoy working in a professional environment at a private-label company with over 50 years of experience, and want to be part of a young, enthusiastic, and ambitious team that always strives for excellence, this role could be a perfect fit.
Purpose of the Position
Due to expansion, we are looking for a Quality Manager to ensure our products are safely and timely delivered to our retail customers (supermarkets and drugstores) across Europe. You will support our purchasing manager and project team by evaluating products from start to finish and filing related reports. We seek a meticulous and experienced Quality Manager to oversee and enhance our quality assurance processes. The ideal candidate will ensure that our products and services meet all internal and external standards before reaching our customers. This role is critical for maintaining our reputation for excellence and driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.
You will work closely with the commercial team and collaborate with colleagues from the Project Management team and our partners in China. You will ensure that all our products comply with legal requirements and stay up-to-date with the development of laws and regulations in the product groups in which Ridam operates. Additionally, you will communicate with suppliers, laboratories, and inspection companies (SGS, TüV, Intertek, Eurofins, etc.).
Your Activities:
  • Support the commercial department with product reports.
  • Evaluate test reports and draw conclusions.
  • Advise purchasers on improvements and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate quality control of products from suppliers, from sourcing to shipment to our distribution centers.
  • Take responsibility for the technical file of each product.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality control systems and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct inspections and audits of products, processes, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for quality issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold quality standards. For example, we are assisting our project team with an increasing number of quality questions about filling portals and requests concerning product compliance with various regulations. These include recycling requirements in the countries where we sell, mandatory packaging information, regulations regarding hazardous substances, allergens, prohibited substances, shelf life, cosmetics legislation, and the MDR and EUDR.
  • Train and mentor staff on quality assurance practices.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and prepare quality reports for management.
  • Manage supplier quality and ensure raw materials meet specifications.
  • Promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Quality Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, BSCI, Six Sigma).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and statistical tools.
  • Previous experience in product-safety legislation.
  • Good command of Dutch and English (written and spoken). French, German, and/or Chinese are a plus.
  • High attention to detail and a results-driven mindset. Flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to work in a structured manner within a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to travel to/visit manufacturers in the EU and Asia (once per year for Asia and once per month in the EU).
  • You live near Amsterdam or Utrecht and are able to work from the office 3-4 days a week.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control.
  • Certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.
  • Salary for this role is between €3000–4500 per month (based on a 40-hour week), with a good pension plan.
