Are you ready to take the lead in mechanical engineering projects that span a wide range of industries and complexities? Our client is seeking a driven and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a dedicated, multidisciplinary team working on exciting single- and multi-disciplinary projects.

Our client offers a dynamic and permanent role for an experienced Lead or Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on a broad variety of mechanical engineering projects—ranging from feasibility studies to construction, from new builds to revamps, and across multiple industries. In this position, no two days are the same.

You will be responsible for the mechanical scope within projects, overseeing machines, equipment, and installations. The projects vary in size and complexity, and you'll work in both mono- and multidisciplinary teams. Your responsibilities include managing the scope, schedule, and budget of your own projects, while also acting as a key point of contact for clients.

A core part of your role involves creating and reviewing mechanical designs using Autodesk Inventor during the study, concept, and basic engineering phases. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools like Ansys is highly beneficial, particularly for structural validation. While Junior Engineers handle most of the detailed engineering work, you will provide guidance and quality control throughout the design process.

You’ll participate in design reviews with clients and other disciplines, helping to ensure the technical quality of the deliverables and smooth communication across stakeholders. You will also mentor and lead Junior Engineers within the team, contributing to a culture of learning and excellence.

• Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Mechanical Engineer on small to mid-sized projects
• Background in a professional engineering environment (e.g., engineering consultancy or machinery manufacturer)
• Experience with static and rotating equipment
• Knowledge of heavy machinery and machine safety is a plus
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor Professional; experience with calculation software such as Ansys is an advantage
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with ownership of project outcomes
• Experience mentoring or managing Junior Engineers
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering (HBO level or equivalent)
• Fluency in both Dutch and English
