As Director of the Business Unit Mission Critical Facilities (MCF), you will lead Haskoning’s global team in shaping the future of data centres This is a high-impact role that offers the opportunity to collaborate with leading industry players worldwide, driving innovation and sustainability while reinforcing our position as a market leader.

What you will do as Director Business Unit (MCF/ Data Centres)
As Director of the Business Unit Mission Critical Facilities (MCF), you will be responsible for leading and growing a high-performing global team, ensuring operational excellence, strategic alignment, and market leadership in the mission critical facilities domain. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of this sector within Haskoning, while also contributing to broader company-wide initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
You will oversee the full scope of the Business Unit’s performance, financial, strategic, operational, and cultural, while driving innovation and collaboration across Haskoning.
Business Unit Leadership & Performance:
- Ensure successful operation and delivery across financial results, market opportunities, services, project execution, quality, and client satisfaction;
- Foster a positive, inclusive, diverse and high-performing team culture, supporting the development and wellbeing of your people.
Strategic & Commercial Growth:
- Use your market vision and entrepreneurial mindset to drive commercial success and identify new opportunities;
- Leverage your experience and network in the data centre and mission critical facilities sector to advance innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Representation:
- Act as a visible leader internally and externally, representing the Business Unit’s interests and building strong relationships with key stakeholders;
- Provide leadership to the MCF management team, strengthening team cohesion and unlocking synergies.
Company-Wide Collaboration & Strategy:
- Lead the Global Leading Market (GLM) Data Centres initiative across Haskoning, ensuring performance and growth in collaboration with other Business Units and / or Business Lines;
- Serve as a strategic partner within the Business Line Leadership team, reporting to the Global Director of Industry & Buildings and contributing to the overall Business Line Strategy.
Corporate Alignment & Integration
- Align with and support the implementation of corporate strategies and internal programs in areas such as HRM, quality, digitalisation, innovation, and commercial excellence;
- Collaborate with other Business Unit Directors to drive cross-unit alignment and deliver integrated services to clients.

As Director of the Business Unit Mission Critical Facilities, you will be responsible for the overall performance and strategic direction of a dynamic and fast-growing business unit within Haskoning. With approximately three hundred dedicated professionals and an annual revenue of € 55 million, MCF is a key player in the global data centre landscape.
Operating from core hubs in the Netherlands (Nijmegen, Delft), Germany (Frankfurt), Poland (Warsaw), Spain (Malaga), APAC (Indonesía, Vietnam) and the UK, MCF is a close-knit international team of experienced and solution-driven project managers, design managers, consultants, and engineers. Together, we deliver large-scale, multidisciplinary data centre projects with precision, care, and a strong focus on client value.

We approach each project with a broader perspective, combining deep market insight with a sharp vision on global trends and challenges in the data centre industry. Besides, you possess the following:
- Proven experience in acquiring and successfully delivering large-scale consultancy projects in the data centre and mission critical facilities sector, to ensure you can lead complex engagements and contribute directly to business growth;
- International work experience and cultural sensitivity, which is essential for leading global teams and building strong relationships across diverse markets;
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, to connect with people, foster collaboration, and align stakeholders around shared goals;
- Commercial awareness and client relationship management, which is critical for identifying opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring long-term success.
- Strategic thinking with business case orientation and risk mitigation capabilities, which enables you to make sound decisions, navigate dynamic environments, and deliver sustainable results.

- A solid foundation: A competitive annual base salary (€ 116,000 – € 150,000) with annual increases;
- An attractive compensation package: Including a strong pension scheme with an 18.3% employer contribution, a 2.15% personal budget (NL), and annual profit sharing. You will also have the opportunity to purchase company shares and share in our success.
- Work-life balance: 28-30 vacation days (based on full-time employment), with the option to purchase additional days. We work in a hybrid model with flexible hours, home office allowance, and a fully equipped home workspace.
