Senior Cloud Engineer Amstelveen • Cyber Security District

We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to lead the
design, deployment, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure. This role is pivotal in driving innovation,
scalability, and security across our Azure ecosystem, supporting both our clients greenfield projects and post-merger integration efforts. You will work closely with our Architecture, Application and Security team to ensure our cloud platforms are robust, automated, and aligned with business goals.
In your role you will be part of an international organization; regular travelling, is required to Cologne
where part of the IT team is located. Your primary location will be Amstelveen.

• Review Solution Designs and implement scalable, secure, and resilient Azure infrastructure
• Lead migration of legacy workloads to Azure using best practices
• Optimize performance, cost, and resource utilization across environments
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Bicep
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps
• Automation for provisioning, monitoring, and patching
• Implement Azure policies, RBAC, and security controls
• Collaborate with SecOps to support SOC/SIEM integration (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel)
• Ensure compliance with ISO, NIST, and GDPR standards
• Consolidate Azure environments across merged entities
• Align identity, access, and resource management strategies
• Standardize cloud operations and documentation
• Provide L3 support for cloud infrastructure incidents and escalations
• Monitor system health and performance using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
• Implement proactive maintenance, patching, and backup strategies
• Guide junior engineers and promote cloud best practices
• Contribute to architectural decisions and strategic planning

• 5+ years in cloud security operations, preferably in Azure
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel or similar SIEMs (such as IBM Qradar)
• Strong understanding of firewall technologies and network protocols
• Experience in M&A or multi-tenant cloud environments is a plus
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Prior involvement in post-merger IT/security integration
• Ability to translate technical risks into business impact
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid methodologies
• Understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR
• Experience leading or participating in IR investigations and forensics
• Preferred qualifications: AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate, AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Terraform Associate or equivalent
