Job TitleSenior Mechanical Designer (LCM) – Image Guided Therapy Systems
Job Description
In this role, you have the opportunity to drive the lifecycle management of Philips’Image Guided Therapy (IGT) Fixed X-ray Systems.
You will be responsible for maintaining, validating, and verifying complex mechanical components and subsystems, ensuring our advanced medical imaging solutions remain safe, reliable, and compliant with international standards throughout their lifecycle.
Your role:
As Senior Mechanical Designer (LCM), you will safeguard the quality, reliability, and patient safety of Philips’ medical imaging systems—supporting clinicians to deliver precise and effective patient care across the globe.
You will be part of the Engineering Department within the Lifecycle Management (LCM) Mechatronic Development Cluster, part of the IGT Fixed Systems R&D organization. This diverse and collaborative team works on both lifecycle management and new product introductions (PDLM). You will collaborate with colleagues across disciplines (electrical, electronics, mechatronics, compliance, validation, purchasing, and quality) as well as external suppliers and partners.
This position offers the chance to deepen your expertise in lifecycle management, regulated product development, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. You’ll strengthen your skills in mechanical design, analysis, testing, and verification while working on technologies that make a tangible impact on healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
You hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) with 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in mechanical development and/or measurement in a regulated industry.
You bring solid expertise in Lifecycle Management (LCM), problem-solving and root cause analysis, and are familiar with Design for Reliability (DfR) principles.
You are proficient in mechanical design (2D/3D, GD&T), with experience in testing, verification, and automation; FEA simulation skills are a strong plus.
You are hands-on, accurate, proactive, and quality-driven, with strong communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Experience with SAFe is an advantage.
