Key responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a growing international buying team (initially 8 FTE);
• Drive sourcing strategy with direct-from-Asia buying (focus on China);
• Acquire and onboard emerging Chinese A-brands and non-EU suppliers;
• Align with internal stakeholders (Retailer1, Advertising, Supply Chain, Innovation, etc.);
• Ensure legal, ethical, and quality compliance in all sourcing activities;
• Travel to Asia to establish supplier partnerships and promote the platform;
• Support long-term strategy for expanding international assortment and pricing competitiveness.

Gevraagd

The ideal candidate has:

• Senior experience in international buying, sourcing, or category management;
• Background working in or with Asian markets (China preferred);
• Cultural sensitivity and (preferably) basic Mandarin language skills;
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills;
• Leadership experience in fast-paced digital/retail environments;
• Willingness to travel internationally as part of the role.

Aanbod

• Temporary assignment for 5 months through Independent Recruiters;
• Salary around €10.000 gross per month based on 40 hour;
• 40–36 hours is preferred, 32 hours is negotiable;
• Freelancers (ZZP) are welcome to apply, but will be contracted through a temporary employment agreement (no direct freelance contracts).
