We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Carrier / Transportation Coordinator to directly manage and optimize our transportation carrier network. This is a hands-on role requiring daily interaction with carriers, real-time problem-solving, and close coordination with internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

Omschrijving

AS a transport coordinator you are:

• Manage carrier relationships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with freight carriers and logistics providers.
• Negotiate contracts and rates: Secure competitive pricing and service agreements while ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Monitor carrier performance: Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, damage rates, and service quality; take corrective actions as needed.
• Resolve shipment issues: Act as the first point of contact for escalations, delays, or disruptions in the supply chain.
• Ensure compliance: Verify that all shipments meet legal, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams: Work closely with warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams to align logistics operations.
• Analyze logistics data: Use transportation management systems (TMS) and Excel to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Implement process improvements: Develop and execute strategies to streamline carrier operations and reduce transportation costs.

Profiel van kandidaat

A successful TRANSPORT COÖRDINATOR should have:

• A strong background in transportation and logistics management.
• Proficiency in relevant software and systems used in the LOGISTICS field.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
• An analytical mindset with attention to detail.
