Jouw toekomstige afdeling
De serviceorganisatie van Vanderlande is een van de snelst groeiende onderdelen van het bedrijf, mede door de toenemende verwachtingen van onze klanten op het gebied van post-project support. Onze primaire taak is het 24/7 IT– en OT-support leveren op hun operationele systemen. Wij doen dit voornamelijk voor vliegvelden, pakketvervoerders en magazijnen. Samen met een netwerk van wereldwijd gestationeerde Service Desks zorgen wij ervoor dat de systemen van onze klanten 24/7 operationeel beschikbaar zijn. Naast de traditionele serviceverlening volgens ITIL (Incident-, Problem– en change management) streven we er ook naar om onszelf te ontwikkelen als businesspartner voor onze klanten. Hiervoor zijn wij op zoek naar getalenteerde mensen om ons daarbij te helpen!
Jouw functie
Als Controls Support Engineer in het ASRS-team begin je met eenopleidingstraject waarbij je leert hoe Vanderlande haar low-level besturingssoftware voor kranen, liftenen shuttle oplossingen opgebouwd heeft. Deze software wordt voornamelijk toegepast binnen vliegvelden en de magazijnen van distributiecentra van bijvoorbeeld voedsel, schoenen of elektronica. Tijdens dit traject ontwikkel je je tot technisch expert.Met deze skills zal jij uiteindelijk samen met je teamleden verantwoordelijk zijn voor het snel oplossen van problemen. Je voert de analyses uit tijdens incidenten en probeert het systeem zo snel mogelijk weer operationeel te krijgen. Je bent gedurende het incident bezig met het coördineren van de situatie en over de ondernomen stappen te communiceren met de stakeholders. Lukt het niet om een incident direct op te lossen? Gelukkig sta je er dan niet alleen voor want dan kanje met een van de meer ervaren specialisten sparren om tot een oplossing te komen. Nadat het incident opgelost is ga jij analyseren wat de oorzaak van het incident was en of een vervolgonderzoek van toegevoegde waarde is.
Het merendeel van de support-activiteiten worden uitgevoerd vanaf onze campus in Veghel. Jij bent samen met je collega’s het aanspreekpunt voor problemen met low-level besturingssoftware en bent daardoor in contact met mensen en systemen van over de hele wereld. Je vormt een cruciale schakel tussen klanten en interne afdelingen.
Jouw profiel
Als Controls Support Engineer heb je veel klantcontact, dus goede communicatieve vaardigheden zijn van groot belang. Je kunt problemen goed analyseren, stelt de juiste vragen, luistert naar de klant en vertaalt je bevindingen naar een technische oplossing.
Opleiding op hbo-niveau in een technische richting
Relevante werkervaring is een pré, maar we zijn bereid je op te leiden tot besturingsexpert!
Je hebt een sterke affiniteit met besturingstechnologie
Je beschikt over uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden
Je kunt zakelijk Engels spreken, lezen en schrijven
Je bent bereid om in een 16/5 rooster te werken en deel uit te maken van een stand-by rooster voor nachten en weekenden samen met het team (hiervoor ontvang je een ploegentoeslag en stand-by vergoeding)

The Service Desk is part of the Service Deployment Organization organization. The primary task is to support (24/7) the operating software of customers within our market segments Airports, Warehouses and Parcels systems. Our Service Desk is an internationally operating service organization for our customers in the Airports, Warehousing and Parcel business units. Service Desk teams all around the globe work together to make sure systems are available around the clock for our customers to use. Apart from the traditional service delivery aligned with ITIL (Incident, Problem & Change Management) we are also dedicated to developing ourselves as a business partner for our customers; and we are looking for talented people to help us!

Your position
As Controls Support Engineer in the Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)-team you will start in an education program to learn the low-level controls software of our material handling systems. You become a technical expert, getting more and more responsibilities. Besides the education, you and the other team members are responsible for quickly solving errors and other issues on our customers’ systems. You’ll trace and correct incidents and you are responsible for logging and monitoring these tickets in our service management tool. If an incident can’t be solved on-the-spot you’ll carry out a quick fix and coordinate the incident to the specialists. After the incident is restored you analyze the cause of the incident and come up, together with the team, with solutions to prevent recurrences. The majority of these support tasks are carried out from our office via VPN connections 24/7. For our local service organizations (worldwide), you and your colleagues are the contact for low level controls software related problems that cannot be resolved locally. You therefore form an important link between the different service organizations and internal departments, while regularly communicating directly with customers.
Your profile
As a Controls Support Engineer you have frequent customer contact, so it’s important to have good communication skills. You can analyze problems very well, you ask the right questions, you listen to the customer and you can translate your findings into a technical solution.
Education at bachelor level in a technical subject
Relevant working experience is preferred but we are willing to train you as a controls expert!
You have a strong affinity with controls technology
You have excellent communication skills
You are able to speak, read and write at Business level English
You are willing to work in a 16/5 schedule and be part of a stand-by schedule for the nights and weekends together with the team (incl. shift allowance and stand-by compensation)
