In the role of senior mechanical engineer, it is your responsibility to maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship, whereby your expertise can, and will, directly influence the compliance, feasibility, and manufacturability of luxury yachts.
What will you do as a Senior Mechanical Engineer?The senior mechanical engineer will be the link between the engineering department and production.
Your responsibilities
- Overseeing and ensuring quality and accuracy of the final design, detailed engineering, and the 3D modeling;
- Ensuring compliance with the industry regulations, classification societies, and flag state requirements;
- Identifying bottlenecks and resolving them with the collaboration of multidisciplinary teams;
- Maintaining engineering quality by reviewing drawings and documentation before their submission;
- Assisting in developing and improving engineering methodologies, standards, and innovations;
- Coordinating with production, subcontractors, and suppliers to align on the feasibility and the technical requirements;
- Carrying out the responsibility for delivering high-quality and timely engineering solutions for various luxurious yacht projects;
- Guiding and mentoring a team of engineers and apprentices;
You will join one of the market’s biggest maritime players. Not only does this company build entirely new, fully customized yachts, but it also refits and modernizes existing yachts. For years, they’ve built a respectable name, making a difference with their innovation, beauty, and comfort in their yachts. Less than 10 years ago, they opened a new location, where they can take on yacht projects up to 160 meters.
What do you bring?By nature, you are analytical and have a good eye for detail, and a high standard for delivering quality and results.
Requirements- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related study;
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience as an engineer in yacht- or shipbuilding;
- Relevant experiences or knowledge of 3D AutoCAD, Teamcenter, and Cadmatic;
- Knowledge of- and experience with exterior engineering, moving equipment, and equipment integration;
- Deep technical insight into production and construction processes and yacht building processes;
- Insight into cable and panel planning, systems on board, and weight and budgeting;
- Quality- and result-driven work ethics;
- The eligibility to work in the Netherlands.

Employment conditions- A gross salary of € 4000 to € 4800 per month;
