As an Information management consultant, you advise clients on the effective and responsible use of their information systems and how to organize and manage them. You assist clients in configuring and strategically steering their IT to maximize its contribution to their organizational goals. This means analyzing the functioning of the IT organization, IT processes, and IT management at clients. Based on this analysis, you provide advice on the governance that fits the goals and characteristics of the organization, including the necessary roles for optimal IT support during their digital transformation.
In this role, you bridge the gap between business and IT, clearly highlighting the challenges faced by both. You can act as an analyst, specialist, process manager, or information manager. It is a varied position where you perform different roles for multiple clients. Due to your broad skill set, you work alongside various specialists from the client and colleagues from Highberg.
The common thread is that you enjoy helping clients optimize the organization and management of their information systems. Examples of projects you might undertake:
- You conduct an analysis of the maturity of IT governance processes and propose improvements in processes, roles, and management. In three months, together with a colleague, you form the best possible picture of the IT organization using our methodology and deliver an analysis, including a proposed improvement roadmap, to the client.
- You assist a government organization in optimizing its structure to comply with the national information provision framework. You identify stakeholders, interview key players, research the history, and propose principles and final implementations.
- You develop an information strategy and information plans for an implementing organization, addressing current challenges such as AI deployment, compliance with (European) legislation, and sustainability considerations. You facilitate inspiration sessions with business and IT, collaborate with users, information architects, and specialists in various focus areas.
- You coach information managers in their roles and advise them on the challenges they face. You observe their practical difficulties and act as a sparring partner who occasionally rolls up their sleeves to help.
- You have a broad perspective on new developments in legislation, security, and ethics, the use of data and AI, sustainability, and their implications for the client.
- You are communicatively skilled and organizationally sensitive, able to communicate and advise at various levels.
- Someone who can quickly understand a problem and articulate it as simply as possible.
- Someone who enjoys contributing to challenging, socially relevant assignments and issues.
- A completed HBO (Bachelor’s) or WO (Master’s) degree in information science, organizational studies, or business administration.
- At least 4 years of experience in IT, information management, governance, or extensive experience in (IT) consultancy.
- Knowledge of and experience with information management, governance organizations, and related methodologies such as IT service management for IT control and management.
- A commercial mindset, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach in relationship management, networking, and proposal processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch.
- A competitive salary and excellent benefits including performance pay, provisions for mobility, pension and leave.
- Sincere attention to personal development including coaching by colleagues, access to and wide range of education and training and a personal development plan with matching investments.
- A place within a challenging and growing organization where taking personal responsibility is valued, you have the autonomy and freedom to perform your work flexibly with short lines of communication with colleagues.
- A pleasant working environment with a pleasant and easily accessible office, focus on performance as a team and not on the individual and numerous social activities such as get-togethers, sports activities and team meetings.
