About the opportunityWe are seeking an experienced Regional Financial Controller to lead the financial governance, reporting, and controllership agenda across a large and complex EMEA operation. This is a high-impact leadership role within an international organization, offering significant exposure to executive stakeholders and the opportunity to shape the future of finance through process optimization, systems enhancement, and transformation initiatives.The successful candidate will oversee a broad and diverse regional footprint, partnering closely with business leaders and global finance teams to deliver accurate reporting, strong governance, operational insight, and sustainable financial controls.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial leadership & governance
- Lead the regional controllership function across multiple countries and legal entities throughout EMEA.
- Ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting in accordance with local and group requirements.
- Own the month-end close, consolidation process, balance sheet integrity, cash flow reporting, and statutory compliance activities.
- Drive a robust internal control environment, supporting governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Act as a trusted finance advisor to senior leadership, providing insight into financial performance, working capital, cash flow, and business risks.
- Partner closely with FP&A, Shared Services, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and operational leadership to support business decision-making.
- Translate operational and commercial activities into meaningful financial outcomes and recommendations.
- Lead initiatives to enhance reporting quality, process efficiency, and data integrity across a multi-system environment.
- Champion finance transformation programs, including automation, digitalization, and emerging technologies.
- Standardize processes and controls while promoting best practices across the regional organization.
- Support the implementation and optimization of finance systems, close-management tools, and reporting platforms.
- Build and develop a high-performing controllership network across the region.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Coach, mentor, and empower finance professionals to achieve both individual and organizational success.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience within a multinational and matrixed environment.
- Significant experience in financial controllership, regional finance leadership, or corporate accounting roles.
- Strong expertise in:
- Financial and management reporting
- Consolidation and close processes
- Balance sheet management
- Statutory accounting and compliance
- Internal controls and risk management
- Audit coordination
- Cash flow and working capital management
- Experience working in complex ERP and data environments, with a track record of driving improvements and transformation.
- Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, supply chain, or operationally intensive businesses is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.
- Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of how operational performance impacts financial results.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving, and complex environments.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are considered a plus.
