Polyester Processor / Composite Builder

What you'll be doing
As a Polyester Processor / Composite Builder, you will work on products that you do not come across every day. From components for the marine and offshore industries to specialized plastic products for trucks and fire engines. You will work with fiber-reinforced plastics and learn various techniques to produce composite products from raw material to finished product.
You will work in the production department of a rapidly growing company that designs, develops and manufactures composite products. The department is practical and production-oriented. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that products are manufactured according to work instructions, planning and quality standards.
One day you may work independently on a product, while the next you may work together with colleagues on a larger production project.
As a Polyester Processor / Composite Builder, you will prepare and maintain molds, cut and prepare fiber packages and apply gelcoat. You will learn manual lamination and work with mechanical injection techniques such as VRTM and RTM-Light.
You will then finish products mechanically by grinding, sanding, drilling, milling and polishing. Assembly, repairs and testing are also part of the job.
In addition, you will perform basic setup of machines or components, monitor the production process and make adjustments when necessary. You will move materials in and out, register production data and report on completed products.
Quality is key: you will immediately identify deviations and irregularities. You will also keep the workshop and machinery clean, safe and efficient.
You will work closely with other production employees and plastic processing specialists. Within the production team, you will have the opportunity to work independently and continuously learn new techniques.

• Has a VMBO or MBO level of working and thinking
• Has technical insight and an interest in composites and plastic processing
