Electrical Engineer Marine

As an Electrical Engineer Marine, your basic engineering will establish the technical foundation for reliable electrical systems aboard complex vessels and offshore installations.

As an Electrical Engineer Marine, you will primarily focus on the basic engineering of electrical systems. You will translate concepts and functional requirements into reliable system designs, specifications, and calculations that provide the foundation for subsequent detailed engineering.

• Performing the basic engineering of electrical installations;
• Translating concepts and functional requirements into technical system designs;
• Preparing and reviewing technical specifications, calculations, and engineering documentation;
• Designing and integrating electrical propulsion and distribution systems;
• Integrating automation and control systems;
• Establishing technical principles for the detailed engineering phase;
• Safeguarding the coherence between electrical systems and other disciplines;
• Verifying that designs comply with project requirements, standards, and safety regulations;
• Identifying and resolving complex electrical engineering challenges;
• Advising clients and collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams.

You will work for a specialized engineering organization on submarines, naval vessels, floating offshore energy, and special-purpose ships. Within multidisciplinary project teams, your basic engineering work will establish the technical foundation for new designs, modernization programmes, and life-extension projects.

You are an experienced Electrical Engineer who can translate complex functional requirements into complete and technically substantiated basic designs. You work analytically, maintain a comprehensive overview, and coordinate your designs carefully with other technical disciplines.

• You have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field;
• You have at least five years of relevant professional experience as an Electrical Engineer;
• You have in-depth knowledge of basic engineering and preferably concept design;
• You have experience preparing system designs, technical specifications, and engineering documentation;
• You have knowledge of electrical installations, propulsion systems, and automation;
• You understand different vessel types and maritime installations;
• You can translate functional requirements into reliable basic-engineering solutions;
• You can safeguard technical coherence and interfaces between different disciplines;
• You possess strong communication and collaboration skills;
• You have a good command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken;
• You are eligible to work in the Netherlands.
