Independent Chef - Italian Restaurant | Ossendrecht

Looking for a kitchen job where you can really become part of the team, learn fast and take responsibility?

For an Italian restaurant in Ossendrecht, we are looking for an Independent Chef. You will work across different sections of the kitchen, preparing pizzas as well as other dishes from the menu.

You’ll work 38 hours across four days, with shifts generally running from 11:00 until around 21:00/22:00. The salary is €19.59 gross per hour, including holiday allowance and holiday hours.

You start the day together with the kitchen team, preparing everything for service. Once guests start arriving, the pace picks up: orders come in, pizzas go into the oven, dishes need to leave the kitchen on time and everyone keeps an eye on where help is needed.

There is no strict hierarchy in the kitchen. The team works closely together and helps each other during busy moments. You are expected to take responsibility for your own station, but you are never working completely on your own.

That makes this a good place for someone who already has kitchen experience, but also for a motivated and eager-to-learn cook who wants to develop further.

What will you do?

• Prepare pizzas using ready-made dough balls.
• Cook and prepare other dishes from the menu.
• Take responsibility for your own section during service.
• Work closely with the rest of the kitchen team.
• Help colleagues when another section gets busy.
• Keep your workplace organised and ready for service.
• Occasionally work at another restaurant within the organisation if you are open to this.

You have experience working in a professional kitchen and feel comfortable working in a busy environment.

Pizza-making experience is a plus, but not necessarily required. If you are motivated, willing to learn and already have a good foundation in the kitchen, the team is happy to teach you.

You work well with others, communicate clearly and naturally step in when your colleagues need help.

You do not need to speak Dutch. English is perfectly fine in the kitchen.
