You and your role As a Data Scientist/ Data Engineer, you know the secrets of scalable data processing, data transformations and production-ready code. You develop the transaction monitoring data model and connect large volumes of data from different parts of Rabobank. You combine technical expertise with clear communication. Summary
As a Data Scientist/ Data Engineer at Rabobank, you work on the international data model for transaction monitoring. You use PySpark, Python and Databricks to process large data flows and make them scalable. You write production-ready code and work with data producers from across Rabobank and experts who develop transaction monitoring logic. You work 36 or 40 hours per week. You work with the team at the office in Utrecht on Mondays and Thursdays. On the other days, you can work from home.

- Develop and maintain the transaction monitoring data model so that global data sources can be used effectively.
- Write and optimise production-ready code to process large data flows at scale.
- Help build a monorepository and onboard new regions to the data model.
- Coordinate with data producers from different parts of Rabobank about data sources and data quality.
- Work with developers who create transaction monitoring logic and need reliable data to do so.

Which skills, tools and technologies will I use?
You will work with PySpark, Python, Databricks and Airflow. Experience with Microsoft Azure and medallion architecture is an advantage.
Can I work in a hybrid way?
Yes. You will work at the office 2 days per week and from home on the other days. The fixed office days are Monday and Thursday. The team is temporarily based at Winthontlaan and is expected to return to Croeselaan in February.
Which team will I join, and who will I work with?
You will join a team of 9 Data Scientists, 1 Scrum Master and 1 Product Owner. You will also work with data producers from across Rabobank and developers working on transaction monitoring logic.
Requirements
What do you bring? Must-haves:
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience as a Data Scientist or Data Engineer.
- Experience with PySpark.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Strong communication skills.
- A proactive way of working.
- A master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, information studies or a comparable STEM subject.
- The ability to solve problems and work professionally with others.
- The ability to reflect critically on your own work and development.
- Experience in an IT environment.
- Experience with Databricks
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of medallion architecture.
