AI is changing how organisations create value, and Highberg is leading this shift by building a dedicated internal AI Enablement team. As Product Owner, you shape the roadmap for our AI agent architecture, turning innovative ideas into impactful tools. You will enjoy the intellectual sharpness of high-end consultancy with the agility of an entrepreneurial spirit, including access to the inspiring Highberg Festival. Step into this evolving landscape and help define our digital future.
AI is changing how organisations work, advise and create value. At Highberg, we help our clients navigate that transformation, and we want to apply the same ambition to our own organisation. That is why we are building a dedicated internal AI Enablement team: a small build & operate team responsible for developing our internal AI agent architecture and tooling in close collaboration with IT.
As Product Owner - AI Enablement, you determine where AI can create the most value for Highberg and translate those opportunities into clear priorities for the development team. You work closely with consultants, practice leads and support teams across the organisation to understand their challenges and identify where AI can genuinely make a difference. This is not a role where you inherit a ready-made roadmap. You help create it. Do you want to shape how AI becomes part of the way Highberg works?
You operate at the intersection of business, technology and AI. You understand enough about AI and LLM-based solutions to challenge technical decisions, while keeping a clear focus on business value, adoption and impact.
You work across our practices and countries to identify where AI can genuinely make a difference. You translate business needs and ideas into concrete development priorities, challenge whether opportunities have a strong enough business case and take ownership of the backlog for our internal AI agents and tooling. You will work closely with our AI development team, business-side consultants, IT and senior stakeholders across Highberg. In doing so, you will:
- Identify and prioritise AI opportunities that strengthen our market position, improve efficiency and enhance the quality of our work.
- Translate business needs, user feedback and ideas into clear and actionable development items.
- Own and prioritise the AI backlog, making deliberate choices based on business value, feasibility and available capacity.
- Set priorities for the AI development team, help remove blockers and keep scope realistic.
- Coordinate testing and feedback from consultants across the business and translate insights into continuous improvements.
- Drive adoption by ensuring solutions are not only developed, but also tested, used and improved in practice.
- Act as the main point of contact for the Transformation Director and steering committee, while working closely with IT.
- Make progress and impact visible through indicators such as adoption, efficiency and cost, using these insights to guide priorities and future investment.
You combine technological curiosity with strong commercial and stakeholder skills. You enjoy working in an environment where not everything has been defined yet and feel comfortable turning ambiguity into direction. You:
- Have strong judgement and know how to distinguish an interesting AI idea from an opportunity that can create tangible value.
- Are comfortable speaking with both technical specialists and senior business stakeholders.
- Can challenge stakeholders constructively and explain why one priority comes before another.
- Bring structure and focus when multiple topics are competing for attention.
- Take ownership and enjoy building something that is still evolving.
- Are AI literate and apply AI consciously, critically and responsibly to strengthen your work.
We strongly encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to apply, even if you do not meet all of the criteria listed above.
- You have at least three years of experience in product ownership, product management or a comparable role in which you were responsible for priorities and product decisions.
- You have hands-on familiarity with LLM-based products and AI agents. You understand concepts such as prompt and agent design, evaluation, token costs and latency, and how these affect product decisions.
- You are experienced building or configuring AI agents yourself, even if this has not been at production scale.
- You have strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to interact with consultants, partners, directors and developers.
- You have experience in managing and prioritising a backlog for a team with limited capacity.
- You are fluent in English. Dutch is a strong advantage, and German is welcome.
- You are based in the Netherlands and are open to occasional travel to other Highberg offices in Europe, particularly Hamburg.
Experience in consulting or professional services is an advantage, as is familiaritywith Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry or comparable agent orchestrationand model-routing platforms. Experience workingwithdistributed development teams or in agile transformation environments is alsovaluable.
- Attractive and comprehensive employment conditions: a salary of €4.500-€6.500 with variable compensation aligned with your experience, complemented by paid leave, mobility options, and a pension scheme.
- The best of two worlds: the intellectual sharpness and quality of a high end consultancy firm, combined with the agility and engagement of an entrepreneurial organization.
- Responsibility, autonomy, and entrepreneurship: from the very start, you take ownership in projects, with plenty of room to take initiative, supported by experienced colleagues.
- Collaborating in an accessible environment: you work in a setting where decision making is close to the action and ideas quickly gain traction.
- Flexible working with strong connection: hybrid working is possible, combined with regular moments where we come together for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and team activities such as inspiring sessions and the Highberg Festival.
