Freelance Full Stack Engineer

Mediahuis is looking for a Freelance Full Stack Engineer to help design and build a central product service within our B2B technology environment. You'll combine your expertise in software development, system integration and solution architecture to create a scalable foundation for managing and distributing product information across different applications.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you'llplay a keyrole in developing a central Product Service thatmakes product information fromourbooking system availabletootherapplications in a standardizedandreliable way. You'll help shapethetechnicalarchitecture, buildthenecessaryintegrationsandestablish a solid foundation forautomatedtesting, workingcloselywithourinternaltechnology teams.

• Designing and developing a central product databaseto consolidate and structure product information from our existing booking system.

• Building integrationsbetweenthe source system andthe product database, ensuringreliableand consistent data exchange.

• Developingan API layerthatmakesstandardized product information availabletootherapplications, including a new Quote Management System.

• Contributingtothe solution architecture, translating functionalrequirementsinto a scalableandmaintainabletechnical design.

• Implementinganautomatedtesting approachtosafeguardthequality, reliabilityandmaintainability of the solution.

• Taking a hands-on role in development, combiningtechnical design withtheactualimplementation of the solution.

• Collaborating closelywithinternal engineers and stakeholderstoaligntechnicaldecisionsandensuresuccessful delivery.

This is a freelance assignmentuntilthe end of December 2026 (extension possible), with a start as soon as possible. YoucanworkfromeitherBelgium or the Netherlands.

What's on your CV, is important but is by no means theonlything we attachimportanceto. You'reanexperienced Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in backend development, databases, API developmentand system integrations. You'recomfortablecontributingto solution architecturewhileremainingactivelyinvolved in hands-on development. Youunderstandhowto design scalableandmaintainable services, integrate data fromexisting systems andestablisheffectiveautomatedtestingpractices. You'reanalytical, pragmaticandabletoworkindependentlywhile collaborating closelywithinternal engineering teams. You take ownership of technicalchallengesand translate architecturalconceptsintoworkingsolutions. Professional proficiency in English is sufficient; knowledge of Dutch is notrequired.

Experience with product data management, centralizeddata services or quote management solutions is consideredan asset.
