Mechanical Engineering Drafter

As a Mechanical Engineering Drafter, you will design the technical systems and installations that ensure exclusive superyachts operate safely, comfortably, and reliably.

In this role, you will contribute to the technical development of luxury yachts. Together with the Project Manager and Work Planner, you will translate the design plan into clear and practical drawings for systems including ventilation, heating, hydraulics, and sanitation.

• Designing and detailing mechanical systems for luxury yachts;
• Preparing drawings of piping, diagrams, and technical routing;
• Detailing ventilation, heating, hydraulic, and sanitary systems;
• Drawing panels and other technical components;
• Creating layouts for onboard technical spaces;
• Translating design plans into clear production drawings;
• Working with AutoCAD and specialist 2D and 3D design software;
• Coordinating with the Project Manager, Work Planner, and other engineering disciplines;
• Verifying that designs are technically feasible and suitable for production;
• Processing technical changes during the construction process;
• Supporting the production department with technical questions.

You will join the Mechanical Engineering department of a leading Dutch superyacht builder. This department is responsible for the complete technical design of each yacht and works closely with Shipbuilding Engineering and Interior Engineering.

Every yacht is unique and requires custom technical solutions. You will work on a wide variety of installations and special onboard features, with high-quality engineering, innovation, and attention to detail at the heart of every project. Communication is direct, the atmosphere is informal, and cooperation between engineering and production is close.

You are a motivated technical drafter with a passion for mechanical engineering and complex technical installations. As our next Mechanical Engineering Drafter, you are eager to learn and want to continue developing your technical knowledge within the luxury yacht-building industry.

• You have completed a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least three years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, you have completed a vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering and have at least five years of relevant professional experience;
• You have strong working knowledge of AutoCAD;
• You have experience with professional 2D and 3D design software;
• You can translate technical design plans into clear production drawings;
• You have an affinity with mechanical systems and complex technical installations;
• You can accurately detail piping, diagrams, components, and technical spaces;
• You work independently, flexibly, and in a structured manner;
• You are comfortable working according to schedules and deadlines;
• You are communicative, collaborative, and confident in your decisions;
• You are eager to learn and continue developing your technical expertise;
• You have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• You have a good command of written and spoken English;
• You are eligible to work in the Netherlands.
