Our partner is working on a high-end software platform for the best hosting and cloud services in Europe. They handle the entire software development for over 14 labels, which makes them a market leader in their industry. The products they offer enable customers and employees to work in a smart and efficient way. One of the major challenges within this organization is creating a central location for all the labels. Each label currently works with its own techniques, which need to be consolidated. Meanwhile, the products must continue to run, which involves dealing with some legacy systems. This project is mainly undertaken by a team based in Sri Lanka. This also looks ahead to the future, as our partner plans to rebrand in 2025.

The organization is very flat, giving everyone the space to develop themselves further. Because everyone works remotely, there is a high sense of responsibility. At present, the company consists of 36 people, of which around 26 are engineers, spread across 6 teams. This is in the Netherlands. There is also a team in Sri Lanka. The working language is English.

There are several projects that are currently high on the priority list to be addressed. One such project is a large Greenfield project. The goal is to increase the percentage of labels running on the Greenfield platform from 10% to 20%. Ideally, this will happen in the coming year, but given the size of the project, it presents significant challenges.

Software development is currently organized around a monolithic architecture responsible for the platform's core functionality. There is a gradual transition towards a more distributed architecture with separate components.

Their platform has been built from scratch by the engineers currently on the team. However, the strategy is now shifting in a new direction. They need someone who enjoys contributing to this process. It is crucial that you are proactive, can think outside the box, translate concepts into action, and ensure that everyone is on board!

You are the ideal candidate if you recognize yourself in the following points:

• 5 - 10 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Experience with infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform, Jsonnet, CUE
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes container platforms and tooling (GitOps, service meshes, networking, auto scaling); self-hosted or EKS/GKE
• Affinity with CI/CD - we work with GitLab and Hashicorp Waypoint
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL systems such as Redis
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Route53, ECS
• Experience with zero trust design principles and knowledge of authentication protocols (Oauth2, mTLS, SPIFFE)
• Strong in documenting processes through tools like flowcharts
• HBO/WO working and thinking level
• Strong communication skills, shows independence and ownership
