The Role: Senior Back-end Developer (PHP/Laravel) 

As a Senior Back-end Developer, you will be a key player in our development team, serving as a leading figure for two other software developers (one back-end and one front-end). Your expertise will drive the scoping of projects and product improvements, working closely with leading members of other business units to ensure the technical feasibility and agile development of new and ongoing initiatives.

Besides delivering exemplary code for your own projects, you will also be instrumental in maintaining an overview of our systems and agile working method. Your scope would include sprint planning and the ongoing improvement of our custom-built ERP system, B2B SaaS portal, and B2C WordPress websites.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership: Guide a small yet committed development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• PHP/Laravel Development: Serve as an in-house expert in these development areas, taking on your own projects and setting the standard for quality output.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Play a critical role in assisting other business unites to transform their project concepts into workable solutions with a focus on feasibility and agile development.
• Sprint Management: Lead the management of scrum methodology and sprint planning to ensure efficient project execution.

Your Typical Day

Team Collaboration: Lead routine stand-ups and sprint planning meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment within the team.

Code Review and Development: Review code, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to the development of high-quality software solutions.

Project Management: Oversee project timelines and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.

System Maintenance: Monitor and maintain our ERP system, SaaS portal, and WordPress websites, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.

Where are we located?

We are in Dordrecht, offering a newly renovated office space within a short walking distance from the central station

• Have 5+ years of relevant work experience in back-end development with PHP and Laravel.
• Familiarity or affinity with other frameworks such as Angular, WordPress and Vue.
• Possess strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a development team.
• Are proficient in agile methodologies, with a focus on scrum.
• Are excellent communicators, both written and verbal, with a collaborative mindset.
• Have a minimum English level of C1.
