During this intensive traineeship, you will learn to test like a Polteq professional in five weeks. Our instructors work at Polteq and come from testing practices. They are full of testing knowledge that they are happy to impart to you. Much attention is paid to the fundamentals of software testing based on ISTQB® and TMAP®, among others. Testing in an Agile/Scrum – and less structured – environment is also covered in detail. We also pay explicit attention to the technical aspects of the testing profession. These include training days where we cover topics such as mobile app testing, test automation and Java for testers. During the traineeship, you will be prepared for three internationally recognized exams: ISTQB Foundation, ISTQB Agile Tester Extension and ISTQB Mobile Application Testing. The exams are part of your traineeship. There is also plenty of room to further develop your communication skills and learn all about the services Polteq offers.

After you have successfully completed the intensive – but also fun – traineeship, you will have the basic skills to start as a tester, often in a team, in one of our challenging projects. You will start your career as a software tester under the guidance of an experienced Polteq person at one of our clients, after which you will be deployed independently on a challenging project within your region. This could be at a web builder (mobile apps), in logistics, at a bank, insurance company, telecom company or government organization, for example. In addition to analytical methodical work (preparing, specifying and also performing tests), you will have a lot of contact with project management, users, developers, designers and administrators. In this way, you come into contact with all aspects of IT. It often comes down to your personal skills to obtain and disseminate information appropriately, to take care of business and organize if necessary! Testing is much more than you might think at first glance: the central (information) point regarding software quality and risks. An analytical test is part of our selection process.

Our traineeship takes place at our headquarters in Amersfoort. Don’t live nearby? No problem! During the traineeship, we offer the opportunity to stay overnight in the area so that you can fully focus on your development. After the traineeship, you will be deployed in your own region, limiting your travel time and maintaining a good work-life balance.
