Would you like to work on innovative Shipbuilding projects? Do you have experience in performing Naval Architecture calculations? If so, you just found your next career opportunity!

As a Naval Architect, you are responsible for creating designs in the pre-contract phase. You work with cost experts and other team members to provide technical information to the sales department. You make sure the designs meet the client’s needs and the required standards, so projects can start successfully. This position is based in The Netherlands, in the area of Rotterdam.

Specific duties in this role include:

• Perform hydrostatic and hydrodynamic calculations.
• Create technical drawings, including general plans and construction schematics.
• Consult with clients and suppliers on specifications such as capacity, speed, and layout.
• Provide technical input for cost estimations.
• Develop new vessel concepts to expand the portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

We are looking for someone with solid experience in Naval Architecture and complex vessel design, who is eager to work in a dynamic role. Strong communication and analytical skills are important for this position. Additionally, the following requirements should be met:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture.
• Knowledge of hydrostatics, stability, hydrodynamics, and structural strength.
• At least 5 years of experience as Naval Architect.
• Skilled in using technical software for calculations and drawings.
• Ability to translate client requirements into feasible designs.
• Familiarity with national and international ship legislation.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Our client is a leading company in the development of different type of vessels.

This is a challenging full-time job within a great team. The company will invest in you and in your personal & professional development. The salary for this position depends on your experience and capabilities, with a maximum salary of up to approximately €82,000 per year. In addition, you will receive a solid pension plan, and if necessary, we will assist you in relocating to the Netherlands. We will also help you with bureaucratic and tax-related issues.
