Werkzaamheden

IT Recruitment is looking for her client in Amsterdam for a Product Manager. The Product manager needs to be involved on several levels within the company:

As part of the yearly budgeting, Hypernode management assesses the current state of the Product Roadmap and decides on whether to move forward on planned items or if we need to change items on the Roadmap. As PM you’ll inform and challenge the MT on their decision making towards the Product Roadmap, supported by business cases. Representing our partners, customers and end users.

What your day will look like👌🏻

SCRUM framework (daily operations):
This is where you come in with your Product Owner hat on. Your job will be to help formulate a sprint goal that is set for every sprint, and support the development team reaching this goal. To reach the goals, you decide which issues are included and what the delivery order will be. You prepare these issues by writing functional user stories accompanied with the applicable business rules. It will be your responsibility to make sure the development team understands, from a functional perspective, what the required feature is and why the business needs this. When the scope is clear enough, the team will give you an indication of the development time they need to deliver that feature. After the estimations are in, the planning puzzle begins. Your challenge will be to make sure the issues are picked up in the right order, the team will not be overloaded and the expectations of the business stakeholders are set correctly.

Typical questions to answer during this stage are:

  • Are the issues with highest business value delivered first? Is that technically feasible too?
  • Are there any planned leaves of team members that affect the available development time?
  • Do we meet the deadlines expected by the stakeholders?

Once a sprint starts, you will be the go-to person for all questions related to any of the included issues. You are also involved in user testing and accepting the issues developed in the sprint. During the development stage, additional work which is unaccounted for might pop up. This will mess up your planning, so you have to make a decision on which issue must be delivered, pushed back and/or put on hold in order to ensure you reach the sprint goal. And since moving issues around like this are affecting future sprints, the whole cycle starts for the top again. But this should very much be familiar territory for you.

Internal communication:

As PM you have an overview on what features are soon to be released and how we are progressing on the Product Roadmap. It is one of your main responsibilities to make sure that other teams, like Marketing, Sales and Support are constantly in the loop on what we are doing and what will be released in the upcoming weeks & months. This ensures that Support knows what to tell customers, Marketing can plan campaigns around releases and Sales can manage expectations on future releases when visiting our customers.

What you have👍🏻

  • You are open minded and able to deviate from the already beaten paths
  • You have excellent communication skills (English & Dutch required)
  • You have legendary documentation skills
  • You have impeccable planning skills
  • You can easily accept, initiate and adapt to changes
  • You can inspire and enthusiastically chair our review meeting to celebrate the results of the hard work
  • And finally, we hope you are able to tick most of these boxes:

– Knowledge of the eCommerce ecosystem, preferably the Magento ecosystem.
– Solid understanding of SCRUM and the software development cycle
– Proven track record (+3 years) in Product ownership and/or Project management.
– High maturity level in stakeholder management
– Preferably certified PSM I, PSM II, PSPO, PSPO Advanced

Hybrid Working
At this organisation you work at home or from another workspace. Once a week you will work at their Amsterdam office in consultation with your team. The second day at the office you can choose yourself.
