Are you an experienced Progress Developer looking for a new challenge in an international trading company? Do you want to bridge the gap between a legacy ERP and the future Microsoft Dynamics environment? This is your chance to take over critical system knowledge from a senior colleague and contribute to a high-impact ERP transition project.

As a Progress Programmer based in Amsterdam, you’ll join a global organization active in the physical trade and processing of commodities like coffee, cocoa, and cotton. The IT department plays a pivotal role in supporting business processes and driving digital transformation.

You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative development team and engage with international colleagues from Germany to Cameroon and Nigeria. The position is based in Amsterdam with hybrid working options. You’ll start with a dedicated handover phase alongside the current Progress Developer, who is planning to retire within a year.

As a Progress Programmer, you will:

• Support and maintain the existing custom ERP system built in Progress OpenEdge
• Develop and enhance functionalities using Progress 4GL/ABL
• Work with internal stakeholders and global teams to keep the system running during the ERP transition
• Contribute to the preparation and implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP migration
• Write and optimize SQL queries for reports and integrations
• Troubleshoot and document issues and solutions

As a Progress Developer in Amsterdam, you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree level of thinking
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge (4GL/ABL)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with functional teams
• Willingness to learn and engage with Microsoft Dynamics (pre)
• Experience with tools like Progress Studio, WebSpeed or OpenEdge Application Server (pre)

As a Progress Developer you will receive:

• A gross monthly salary between €4,000 and €6,000, depending on experience
