Data & Analytics
The goal of Data & Analytics is to contribute making data available and reliable throughout the Schiphol organization. Within Schiphol, there is a strong focus on becoming a data-driven organization to also become Europe’s Best Digital Airport. Projects range from gate planning algorithms, computer vision for real-time analyses, smart meters and sensors to optimize passenger flows, to airport operations dashboards. The strength of our innovation teams lies in delivering solutions for colleagues that are applicable in their daily work. For this reason, data analysts, AI specialists, BI specialists, and engineers work together in a product team.

The Role
As a Power BI Developer Operations, you will be part of a multidisciplinary scrum team, consisting of a product owner, data scientists, data analysts, machine learning engineers, BI engineers and a scrum master. This team is building advanced forecasting models for passenger and baggage numbers and flows, essential for efficient operational and strategic planning of the airport. Within this team, you are able to propose and implement front-end dashboards based that align with our architecture.
You understand the role of data in day-to-day business processes and how to best visualise it. You can analyse functional questions, propose a front-end solution, and implement it in a way that aligns with our architecture. How you take care of this? That’s up to you. • Helping our business stakeholders in identifying their functional data needs.
• Exploring available data to help our business in defining and measuring their KPI’s.
• Designing and building dashboards in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Developing dashboards with insights that support decision-making in performance management.
• Managing day-to-day progress of your projects, proactively communicate with your stakeholders and work with experts from various disciplines to get their input or support.
• In your role as Power BI Developer you also take care of supporting and training our business users in effectively using dashboards and data for self-service purposes. It’s important that you contribute to further development of the BI developer community at Schiphol.

Who are you? We are looking for a candidate who:
• has a minimum of 3 years of experience as a front-end developer.
• has extensive experience in building BI solutions with Microsoft Power BI.
• has fluency in DAX and can hold your own in SQL.
• has an analytical mindset and experience with working in an Agile DevOps team.
• has experience with organizing and facilitating workshop with business experts to gather information on required insights.
• is able to work independently and proactively takes on tasks
• is able to translate customer requests into a technical design
• is enthusiastic and proactive: you like to challenge yourself and your team to grow further. You are a sparring partner for Schiphol!
