Do you want to join a Technological and Engineering team and work with them to develop sustainable energy solutions for work vessels and industrial land-based installations (medium and high voltage). Key principles in this are the use of hybrid systems or alternative fuels, such as methanol, to achieve emission-free sailing.
Our client has been an independent system integrator for electrical and automation systems for specialized applications for over 100 years. They focus on dredging and offshore vessels, the industrial market, and sustainable energy generation.
You will support various project teams from the quotation phase to the commissioning of the ships and installations in areas such as power generation, distribution, conversion, and control.
Your concrete tasks will include:
Supporting and advising during quotation and specification processes;
Conducting studies and delivering training sessions;
Building simulation models in Matlab, such as load simulations and power flow simulations;
Implementing project-specific modifications to our Energy Storage System and DC Switchboard designs;
Providing third-line technical support (diagnostics and troubleshooting) to service and commissioning engineers, both onboard and remotely.
You are an experienced electrical specialist with knowledge of drive systems, power electronics, and electrical system design (AC/DC). You are capable of running simulations, preferably in Matlab, or are willing to learn.
You possess a critical and inquisitive mindset. You keep a close eye on technological developments and know how to translate them into solutions for our clients. You are able to present your ideas convincingly to stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Further requirements include:
A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent level through experience;
Experience in the maritime or industrial sector is a plus;
Willingness to provide third-line support onboard ships;
Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
