Your Tasks

The Controlling department of MediaMarkt Benelux consists of 4 teams: Financial Controlling, Commercial Controlling, Operational Controlling and Procurement Controlling.

The Financial Controlling team is the point of contact in the organization for all questions related to the P&L. The team provides insights into the financial performance of the Benelux region and controls the planning and control cycle for this region. For this team we are looking for a seasonate Financial Controller to manage this team of professionals. As Team Lead Financial Controlling, you will lead one of our teams to ensure that there is insight into the financial performance and position of MediaMarkt Benelux. You will monitor and analyze short and long term developments regarding the position and objectives of our organization. The things you will do is: 

  • Participate in the month-end close cycle by analyzing and reporting on the monthly results;
  • Ensuring a strong administrative organization and internal control around the daily/week/monthly processes within the department;
  • Monthly forecast process around any financial changes in the month that affect the results of current and coming months;
  • Comply with the various reports from the head office in Germany;
  • Analyzing the results and discussing it with the Head of Controlling and senior leadership;
  • Participate in ad-hoc abd proces optimisation projects.
Your Profile

You are an analytically excellent professional with a good dose of ownership. You instinctively feel at home withing large models and data sets and find your way around Excel effortlessly. A background in retail, wholesale or logistics is a plus. You have a strong vision of your field, but are open to new ideas and insights. Naturally you are and advisory stakeholder manager. In addition, you can handle deadlines and a quick pace of working. You feel comfortable in a large organization with a dynamic work environment. You are accurate, entrepreneurial and have an excellent command of English (i.e. verbally and in writing). Furthermore you:  

  • Completed master or bachelor degree;
  • At least 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • RC, RA, CMA, CIMA, CFA accreditations are welcome;
  • Your career shows that you have both talent and ambition;
  • Focus on ‘getting things done’, self-starter, organizationally strong and top analyst;
  • Mature interlocutor at all organizational levels.
