As a senior data engineer, you actively think about data architecture, controlling and building scalable and reliable data pipelines. You are the bridge between raw data from the source to useful insights for developers. This involves setting up robust ETL processes in cloud technologies such as Google Cloud and Azure. You ensure that data from various sources is secure, accurate and available in a timely manner for reporting and analysis. You build solutions that meet requirements for performance, compliance (such as AVG/GDPR) and scalability. Further you identify data sources, transform raw data into valuable datasets and ensure smooth data flow between systems and applications. In doing so, you lay the foundation for reliable insights and support to the BI Developers and hereby the business in data-driven decision-making. Your tasks also include:

• setting up and managing data lakes and data warehouses on cloud platforms;

• developing data pipelines (ETL / ELT);

• structuring, cleaning and transforming raw data into useful datasets for analysis and reporting;

• setting up and documenting data marts, models and technical pipeline architecture;

• ensuring data quality and security;

• coordinate with developers and other colleagues to ensure that technical solutions are well aligned with the information needs of the organization.

Job requirements:

• HBO or WO work and thinking level with a completed education, preferably in IT, data engineering or a related technical field;

• at least 5 years of experience in designing data infrastructures such as data lakes, data warehouses and ETL processes, preferably in cloud environments;

• experience in optimizing data processing, such as query tuning, monitoring and logging of pipelines for data quality and performance;

• excellent skills in SQL and data modeling techniques such as Data Vault or star modeling;

• able to convey technical concepts clearly and build bridges between IT and business without losing the overview;

• experience with languages ​​such as Python or R is a plus.
