Data Modeler

Join Valcon as a Data Modeler and help organizations become truly data-driven. Bridge the gap between business and technology by translating complex processes into robust data models.

We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler with a strong grasp of logical and conceptual modeling. At Valcon, you will work closely with stakeholders and technical teams to design sustainable data solutions. In this dynamic role, your communication skills are just as important as your analytical expertise.

What will you do?

Translate business processes into data model requirements for data warehouses and reporting purposes;
Design and maintain data models to support reporting and DWH optimization;
Establish and maintain modeling standards and best practices;
Reverse engineer and optimize existing physical data models;
Guide and support junior colleagues in data modeling tasks;
Contribute to the development of Valcon’s data modeling propositions;
Engage with (potential) clients and stakeholders to explore opportunities

Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a data modeller.
A proven track record and academic level of work and thinking.
Strong in a team and with stakeholders, with excellent communication and analytical skills.
Familiar with/proficient in different methodologies (Ensemble, Dimensional, Relational) and different standards (Data vault, Kimball, Inmon, Graph).
Experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting and dashboarding in general.
Experience in SQL (any other programming language is a plus).
Experience with digital tooling for modelling.
Experience with data management: you are able to set up a governance structure around data models.
You are Fluent in Dutch and English
