Technical Project Manager Low Voltage (LV) - Network Stations & Municipalities.

Due to the energy transition, more work is coming our way than ever before. There will soon be many more electric cars on the road, we are looking for alternatives to gas and we are supplying massive amounts of self-generated energy. Think of solar panels on roofs, solar parks and wind farms. As a result, the questions of our customers are becoming increasingly complex and our electricity grid needs to be drastically adjusted. At the same time, there is a shortage of technicians on the labor market, we want to improve the quality of our work and our efficiency needs to increase. That is why we are looking for a Technical Project Manager Low Voltage (LV) - Network Stations & Municipalities who will take on these challenges with us.

You will work at the Business Project department, which is responsible for large electricity and gas projects, mainly in the West and Central Netherlands. The major challenges for the Business Project Chain lie in doubling the capacity for expanding and strengthening our electricity grid, achieving objectives for gas replacements, working more efficiently with contractors within new contract agreements and professionalizing project management.

As a Technical Project Leader Low Voltage in our LS chain, you strengthen the field of technical management. You have an affinity with the operational technical aspects of the work and know how to translate these into tactical guidelines. This means you know how to deal with municipalities excellently. You are the connecting link between our technicians and (technical) civil servants of municipalities. You feel like a fish in water during official consultations and quickly get to the core, with an eye for each other's interests. You are a real dealmaker. No matter how complex the puzzle is, for every neighborhood and new grid station you go for the technically most feasible solution, in harmony with the environmental interests of the municipality. You interact with project leaders, engineers, technical managers, environmental managers and private advisors. A change management challenge in a young and newly established team within a dynamic field.

What is BAR?
BAR stands for 'Required Acceptable Space'. This refers to a relatively new, coordinated collaboration process between municipalities and Stedin. The goal: to successfully find and secure locations for new grid stations together within our LS neighbourhood approach.

What your day looks like as a Technical Project Manager Low Voltage
No two days are the same. You work flexibly: sometimes at the office, sometimes at home. But in a complex network situation, you get in the car and drive to the municipality instead of connecting digitally. After processing important emails, you focus on ongoing projects, using your technical expertise and communication skills. Together with the environmental manager, you divide up the roles for the next interest group meeting. You know in advance that one location for a network station is technically necessary, but administratively sensitive. You explore other locations where you may be able to make concessions in the space to reach a compromise. Your plan is ready and you go into the meeting well prepared.

In the afternoon, you discuss another neighborhood with the network engineer. After a few minutes, you understand the network design and you know for sure that you will be sitting at the table in a good place in a few weeks. On the way to coffee, you think about the bottlenecks and call the Technical Manager LS to discuss a specific strategic guideline. You have found the right approach and look forward to the meeting with confidence.

The next day you will attend a meeting with the expert team on the issue of public lighting (OVL). In the meantime, you will learn to draw up programs of requirements and will delve deeper into System Engineering in terms of technical content. At the end of the day, you will have a one-on-one with your team leader. You will talk enthusiastically about the progress of your meetings with municipalities and express your ambition to grow into Technical Manager. Together you will draw up a development plan.

What else do you bring?
- At least a higher professional education or demonstrable higher professional work and thinking level in, for example, electrical engineering, energy technology, mechanical engineering, industrial design, system engineering or technical business administration.
- Knowledge and experience with technical management and change management in the infrastructure/energy sector at an operational-tactical level.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- You are result-oriented, proactive, independent and have strong analytical skills.
- You switch quickly between main and secondary issues and quickly master your design principles.
- Knowledge of and experience with design in a technical environment is a plus.
