This is a great opportunity to join our forward-thinking Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team, part of Central IT for the European region. Our team is made up of skilled IT specialists, each bringing their own expertise: from Core Applications and Manufacturing Digitalization to Infrastructure, Data Management, Security, and Portfolio & Project Management. We work closely with local IT teams across our European Business Units to drive strategic initiatives and enable data-driven success.

As a Data Migration Consultant you play a key role in ensuring that data is accurately, securely, and efficiently transferred from legacy systems to new platforms during system upgrades, transformations, or implementation, in our case: moving to SAP S/4HANA. You combine deep technical expertise with strong business understanding to plan, execute, and validate the migration of complex datasets. Working at the intersection of IT and business, they ensure that the data being migrated is clean, consistent, and aligned with business needs, while minimizing disruption to operations. Your work is essential to the success of digital transformation initiatives.

Data Migration Consultant

To give you a good overview of the role, below the tasks and responsibilities, and the key elements we are looking for in you.

The tasks and responsibilities are:

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for data migration within large-scale transformation programs.
• Lead and execute data migration projects, leveraging the Syniti Knowledge Platform (ADM/M) and SAP Data Migration Cockpit.
• Maintain and enforce data migration standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all relevant data domains using established templates and tools
• Support data mapping and data cleansing activities in alignment with the European S/4HANA data template
• Oversee data quality checks and validation efforts to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Actively participate in data load cycles, validation, and reconciliation, providing strong support to local users during System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Coordinate final data preparation and ensure local readiness for a smooth production cutover.
• Manage cutover activities, including data sign-off and legacy system freeze, in collaboration with local stakeholders.
• Conduct post-load data validation and resolve any emerging data issues promptly.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for local business stakeholders regarding data migration matters.
• Act as a liaison between local business units and cross-functional teams (Finance, Procurement, Business Process Owners, IT) to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
• Explore and pilot the use of generative AI to enhance data migration through intelligent automation and innovative insights.

About you:

• You have a Master degree in IT or related field.
• Proven experience in SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA data migration, with a solid track record in transformation or implementation projects
• Strong knowledge of data migration methodologies and tools, preferably including Syniti ADM(M) and SAP Data Migration Cockpit.
• Exceptional data analysis and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Experience with SQL, Python, or related tools for data analysis.
• Ability to effectively coordinate across local and European business and IT teams.
• A forward-thinking mindset with an interest in the evolving role of AI in data migration
