Are you an experienced Software Engineer in maritime technology, eager to use your expertise on innovative projects in the shipping industry? In this versatile role, you will work on PLC software for electrical control systems on a wide range of maritime and offshore installations. These include hybrid vessels such as tugboats, yachts, workboats and ferries. You will divide your time between the office and various project locations, both in the Netherlands and abroad, where you will test, commission and troubleshoot software. The employer is an Electrical Engineering company that primarily designs and builds electrical installations for the maritime sector, including the dredging industry, fisheries and cutter suction dredgers.
- Design and program PLC software for maritime control systems (such as PMS, EMS and DCS)
- Test and commission systems on-site, both nationally and internationally
- Troubleshoot and maintain software-driven control systems
- Create and maintain technical documentation and specifications
- Collaborate with project teams consisting of engineers, technicians and project managers
- Program HMIs for the operation of maritime systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering or similar
- At least 3 years of experience as a software engineer or in a similar technical role
- Proven knowledge of PLC systems (such as Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley, B&R, Wago)
- Experience with programming languages such as Structured Text and C++
- Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux environments
- Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written
- Flexible and willing to travel regularly (nationally and internationally)
- You work accurately, show initiative and enjoy technical challenges.
