In this wonderful role, you will join our international Accounting and Financial Control team based in Rotterdam. You will play a crucial role in the further development and buildup of the AP function. The interesting part of this role is that you will keep connected with the AP work field and at the same time will get the responsibility of the day-to-day coordination and development of the team. We are looking for our new addition to the team as our:

The position

In this position you will report into the Manager Accounting and Financial Control who leads a team of 11 seasoned finance professionals who specialize in: Accounting, VAT Compliancy and Accounts Payable. The team holds an exciting mix of nationalities. As a team lead of the AP function you will lead a team of 3 dedicated AP Officers.

The exciting part of this role is that there is a lot of opportunity for development and improvement. This applies for the team as well as on systems and IT, which makes this a unique position in our company. You will have a lot of contact with various stakeholders in our company, building relationships and listening how to improve.

The main tasks and responsibilities:

• Responsible for the timely, accurate, well-controlled and accurate processing of (purchase) invoices and payments.
• Daily tasks: three-way match invoice posting, daily assigning and posting of invoices (non three-way match process), daily maintenance of the AP mailbox and its follow up.
• Prepare payment proposals, vendor master data changes processing, daily bank statement processing / postings
• Maintenance AP subledger
• Continuously improve Account Payable processes.
• Coordination of daily Accounts Payable activities.
• Provide support and give advice to the team.
• Monitoring performance of the AP team though KPI’s.
• Develop and coach the team: onboarding, managing workload and their professional personal development.
• Ensure developing, implementing and safeguarding proper internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Building strong relations and creating a network with business stakeholders to support managing their cost centers
• You lead empower and grow as one!

About you:

• We are looking for a pro active, driven and positive Team lead AP with the following background:
• You have a Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance
• At least 5 years of working experience in finance, preferably AP
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written, Dutch is nice to have;
• You have great joy in developing and coaching people but never loose sight of the (team) objectives;
• You have excellent knowledge profound knowledge of MS Office and experience in SAP;
• It would be great if you have knowledge of the Production / Food & Beverage industry
• Personally, you demonstrate integrity and an analytical & structured way of working
• You act proactively, like a self-starter who is communicative to his environment and stress tolerant
• You are curious, likes to be challenged, have a driven pragmatic personality and is not shy for change and growth.
