Our client is an international company, supplying essential industrial gases and related equipment to various sectors, focusing on innovation and sustainability. They lead in the development of large-scale gas projects that convert natural resources into valuable products. Currently expanding, they are now looking for an experienced Scaffold Coordinator to join their team in Rotterdam.

Job Profile for Scaffold Coordinator
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Report to the Site Manager and coordinate daily with the project and subcontractor teams
  • Supervise all construction-related scaffold and access activities across the site
  • Ensure scaffolds are planned and scheduled in alignment with overall project milestones
  • Work with scaffold subcontractors to confirm materials and resources are available ahead of execution
  • Prioritise scaffold works based on the needs of construction activities and schedule drivers
  • Identify engineered scaffold needs early and support timely planning and delivery
  • Maintain tight control over scaffold erection and dismantling processes
  • Inspect scaffold holdings to ensure compliance with applicable local and international standards
  • Implement and manage a scaffold inspection system, ensuring weekly reviews of all erected structures
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and safety observation tours, and take corrective actions when needed
  • Comply with client safety procedures and promote a proactive EHS culture on site
  • Monitor and ensure subcontractor adherence to safe systems of work, including:
  • Risk recognition, assessment and mitigation
  • Controlled scaffold access and quarantine procedures
  • Rigging, slinging, and lifting practices
  • Work at height protocols
  • Dropped object and trip hazard prevention
  • Excavation safety
  • Liaise with Project Engineers and construction teams on access and constructability issues
  • Provide technical expertise and input to work packs and scaffold design reviews
  • Support incident investigations and report EHS events in line with project requirements
  • Maintain schedule and cost control within the assigned discipline scope
  • Provide technical support for training, scaffold certification, and best practice sharing
  • Stay informed of project developments and ensure all scaffold activities reflect the latest project data and documentation

Candidate Profile for Scaffold Coordinator

  • Must be fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • Relevant technical qualification or professional certification in construction or scaffolding
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools
  • 10+ years of site supervision experience in a construction environment, with a focus on scaffolding and access coordination
  • 15+ years of hands-on construction experience, including temporary facilities and heavy industrial settings preferred
  • Excellent understanding of scaffolding standards and construction safety practices
  • Strong background in managing scaffold teams and coordinating subcontractor performance
  • Proven ability to lead, coordinate and influence across cross-functional site teams
  • An analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Flexible and proactive approach to evolving site needs and priorities
  • High level of personal initiative and professional integrity
