Our client is an international company, supplying essential industrial gases and related equipment to various sectors, focusing on innovation and sustainability. 

They are now looking for an experienced Heavy Lifting & Rigging Supervisor (Appointed Person) to join their team in Rotterdam.

Job Profile for Heavy Lifting & Rigging Supervisor
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Provide technical and supervisory support, guidance, and mentoring to the contractor construction team using previous experience and knowledge
• Assist in developing strategies and initiatives to enhance contractor performance
• Assess contractor interface performance during construction and help improve SIMOPS (simultaneous operations) coordination
• Ensure safety requirements are consistently met by supporting and encouraging safe work practices
• Review and appraise method statements and risk assessments for technical content and safety considerations
• Conduct weekly HSE inspection audits
• Monitor compliance with permit systems and Safe Plan of Action (SPA) procedures
• Support monitoring of work execution to ensure quality standards are met, including oversight of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Coordinate the interface between vendor representatives and contractors
• Support the Construction Manager by developing detailed daily reports on work assessments and contractor performance
• Review and approve heavy lifting and transportation plans
• Oversee daily lifting and rigging operations performed by all construction contractors
• Ensure the Heavy Lifting Contractor uses the latest available information, including updated drawings and weights
• Provide input and suggestions for constructability analysis related to heavy lifting and transportation plans
• Prepare daily activity reports, including APTs (Authorisations to Proceed)
• Inspect cranes and lifting arrangements
• Verify proper certification and accreditation in accordance with local regulations

Candidate Profile for Heavy Lifting & Rigging Supervisor

• Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Experience in a similar role is a must
• Appointed Person certificate is required
• VCA-VOL certificate is required
• Excellent communication skills
