Mechanical Equipment As a Hydraulic Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and executing hydraulic solutions from initial concept to detailed design. You will work on systems such as hydraulic power units (HPUs), manifolds, accumulator and filter skids, and pipelay systems. Your technical leadership ensures these systems are assembled, tested, and integrated aboard ships, providing visible and tangible outcomes.Translate P&ID blueprints into detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings for HPUs, manifolds, filters, accumulator frames, and associated electrical cabinets and hose routing
Define functional, technical, and electrical specifications; perform calculations using hydraulics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics
Produce full documentation packages including FAT/HAT/SAT protocols, FMECA reports, installation guides, and maintenance manuals
Source standard components using supplier data (pumps, cylinders, valves, sensors, etc.)
Collaborate closely with system designers, multi‑disciplinary engineers, workshop technicians, and testers during assembly and commissioning
Provide input to sales and project managers on engineering scope, capacity planning, and optimisation opportunities
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent
At least 5 years’ experience in hydraulic system design, preferably in maritime, motion control, or heavy equipment industries
Proven proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software, PDM and ERP systems
Strong analytical skills in hydraulics, thermodynamics, and kinematics
Excellent communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary, international environments (fluent in English, Dutch is a plus)
Detail-oriented, methodical, and organized, with a results-driven mindset
- An attractive monthly salary of € 3.400 – € 6.200, based on your experience
