About the team

The Project Management Office (PMO) provides resources, support, knowledge and coaching to the customer and product project management team(s) to ensure a better performance along the project lifecycle. At this moment the PMO department making steps forward to increase the maturity. So the PMO department will beating the rhythm on the project milestones and will serve Thales Naval by providing the expertise, know-how, services and continuously striving to increase the data quality to ensure a better performance along project lifecycle in one predictable way with clear awareness and reliable insight on cost, time and quality.

About the job

The role of Project Management Business Analyst is highly dynamic. In this position you are allocated to our PMO department to provide practical support and guidance in the world of becoming a ‘data driven company’. As a Business Analyst, you are responsible for translating functional requirements into terms that an engineer can understand. You are the linking pin between the (Project Management) Business customer and the Enterprise Data Management (PowerBi) team. You understand how the business operates, its processes and its information needs. At the same time, you have the right technical knowledge to translate the business needs into information solutions which can be delivered by the dashboard development team. This means that you have the right communication skills to address different audiences and to ask the right questions to get to the bottom of the customers’ information need. However, this also means that you have the right technical skills to support extracting source data, and in building reports and dashboards. Once the product is ready, the Business Analyst is also the first person to check whether the delivered product also answers the functional requirements. Focused on business intelligence: does the delivered information product (report, cube) also answer the questions the user has asked?

The main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Identify, clarify and summarize the problem solving requests from the different departments;
  • Advising role towards business for reporting/analytics solutions to fulfill information needs;
  • Representing the business for the product, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their views and requirements are captured in the product backlog;
  • Supporting the product owner by implementing the roadmap, prioritizing the items in the backlog, and sharing the product owner's vision with stakeholders;
  • Facilitating interactive workshops where, together with business stakeholders, is determined what the essentials are for the need for information;
  • Helping team members to align the technical solution with the requirements from business;
  • Explaining business requirements to data engineers to ensure proper implementation.

About you

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferably Business & IT) with 2+ years of experience in coordination, ideally within an international high-tech environment;
  • You are able to get up to speed very quickly with(in) the Thales organization, our solutions and our customers. You are curious, see opportunities and deal well with complexity. You have knowledge of industrial engineering principles (V-Model) and techniques in manufacturing;
  • You are able to build bridges between the business information need and the technical possibilities;
  • You have extensive knowledge about Reporting and Analytics tooling (preferably PowerBI)
  • You are able to apply knowledge of data warehousing and PowerBI to translate this into requested solutions;
  • You work comfortably in a multidisciplinary, international and cross-cultural team and easily collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and projects; You are a real team player and can easily liaise with various people; you are cooperative, yet decisive when it comes to your areas of expertise;
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
