We are seeking a Technical Specialist in Ergonomics to enhance the integration of human factors into the development of naval vessels and training solutions. In this role, you will help ensure optimal usability, safety, and comfort for ship personnel by aligning system designs with ergonomic best practices.Your scope will cover all key areas of ergonomics—physical, cognitive, organizational, and even linguistic. Working closely with design engineers, project leads, and third-party suppliers, you will ensure ergonomic considerations are embedded from the early stages of concept design through to system deployment. Your knowledge will help elevate system functionality and crew well-being across the entire vessel lifecycle.As Technical Specialist in Ergonomics, your responsibilities will include:• Designing and delivering Human Factors Engineering (HFE) plans tailored to individual project needs.• Conducting detailed ergonomic evaluations of ship systems and operator interfaces.• Performing task-based evaluations to establish human-centric design requirements.• Utilizing Leitmerkmal analysis methods and producing comprehensive ergonomic review reports.• Advising on layout and design of control rooms and workspaces to reduce strain and enhance efficiency.• Ensuring commercial off-the-shelf systems (COTS) are ergonomically suitable for naval use.• Identifying critical points in human-machine interaction and optimizing interface design accordingly.• Partnering with other disciplines to implement and maintain ergonomic quality throughout project phases.Functie-eisen
• A relevant university degree and a strong background working with technical teams on complex, preferably defense-related, projects.• Excellent problem-solving skills, along with the ability to communicate and collaborate across departments.• Familiarity with German HFE standards and regulatory compliance processes is a plus.• Experience using tools such as MS Office, SAP, IBM DOORS, and 3D design platforms like 3DX.• Prior experience in shipbuilding or maritime industries is preferred.• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both German and English.• A readiness to travel internationally as needed.• Mandatory: a permanent EU passport and citizenship due to the secure nature of the programs involved.Arbeidsvoorwaarden
