As a Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and deploying advanced shore-based simulation and testing environments. These systems are crucial for verifying the integration and functionality of complex naval solutions before installation on board. Your task is to design simulation frameworks that mimic shipboard operations and enable testing on levels ranging from individual subsystems to full-mission environments. Depending on project scope and vessel configuration, this may include developing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups, test benches, and land-based control systems. Working in line with the V-model within a 3DExperience engineering environment, your work will undergo detailed review, simulation, and verification throughout both design and testing phases. Ultimately, you ensure the delivery of reliable, high-fidelity simulations that support safe commissioning, crew training, and early detection of issues critical steps toward successful vessel deployment.Key Responsibilities:• Draft functional specifications, technical documentation, and test scenarios for land-based simulation systems.• Build and integrate simulation setups that emulate automation, power, and mission-related ship systems.• Establish and operate Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches and similar environments to aid validation and training.• Create and maintain comprehensive validation procedures and test plans, ensuring adherence to classification standards and project demands.• Collaborate closely with engineering teams and subcontractors to align simulation requirements with actual system architect.• Assess supplier deliverables for simulation interfaces and incorporate them into the broader test setup.• Provide technical support during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).• Contribute to the evolution of best practices and standards for simulation and validation in future naval projects.Functie-eisen
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.• Minimum of two years’ experience in designing, integrating, or configuring simulation and testing environments, preferably within a maritime or similar technical domain.• Knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems, signal interfacing, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.• Background in multidisciplinary engineering projects involving multiple suppliers and stakeholders.• Understanding of system modeling, control logic, or tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, TwinCAT, or LabVIEW is considered an advantage.• Strong references are required, as candidates must undergo a security clearance procedure.• Applicants must hold permanent EU citizenship and a valid EU passport.
