DEV/OPS Engineer with a Passion for Security, 32 - 40 hours per week, Hengelo
The Security Identity and Access Management (SIAM) Agile Squad at Thales Netherlands ensures our colleagues have access to high-quality SIAM applications that fully meet our company’s security standards. Based in Hengelo, we support all four Thales offices in the Netherlands.

About your future job
As a SIAM Engineer, you’ll play a key role in managing and optimizing our SIAM tooling and processes. Your main goal is to keep our SIAM tools running smoothly, integrated seamlessly, and always improving. You’ll be working within a complex and dynamic environment, always with a security-first mindset.

Your main tasks will include

  • Integration: Helping to integrate SIAM tooling within our IT landscape.
  • System Management: Maintaining and administrating SIAM tools to ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and especially security.
  • Support & Troubleshooting: Providing technical support to users, resolving incidents quickly, and ensuring SIAM tools are running optimally.
  • Documentation: Creating and updating clear documentation around SIAM processes, system configurations, and best practices.

Who are we looking for?
We’re searching for a new colleague who enjoys working in a team and is motivated to develop further in the field of security. Ideally, you:

  • Have completed an HBO degree or have gained similar experience through several years of work.
  • Are enthusiastic about diving deeper into security responsibilities, aiming to become an expert in this area.
  • Have some experience with security tooling (for example vulnerability scanning, endpoint data sanitization, and detection/response tools) familiarity with OpsWat or NextPose is a plus. If not, we’re happy to help you develop these skills.
  • Have some knowledge of and are willing to learn more about the IAM domains such as IGA, PAM, or AM.
  • Understand the basics of Active Directory.
  • Have experience working in Windows or Linux server environments.
  • Like working in an Agile environment and are comfortable with a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Are available to work in a hybrid model, coming to our Hengelo office at least three days a week.

What’s in it for you?

  • A challenging job in a pleasant team within our high-tech, innovative work environment.
  • Shared responsibilities: in daily operations, every team member works on the IAM as well as the Security responsibilities of the team.
  • Possibilities for personal and professional development within the organization, for example on a technical, commercial, or international level.
  • Valuable international collaborations with colleagues from 68 countries.
  • A comfortable workplace in a modern environment, with attention to flexibility and the right work-life balance.
  • Work can usually be done where and when you want. Within Thales, we aim for a 60/40 balance, meaning you can work from home at least two days a week if your role allows.
  • A good salary, suitable travel expense reimbursement, and the possibility to personalize your employment conditions annually: you can trade leave days for internet costs, our bicycle plan, company fitness, and moving expenses.
  • 40 vacation days per year. Yes, really.
