About the role

As the Head of Retail Netherlands, you will be responsible for defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure our dealer-based sales teams have the necessary tools to deliver excellence at every stage of the customer journey for passenger cars. This includes everything from the initial lead inquiry through to vehicle sales, delivery, and long-term customer loyalty retention.

You will continuously monitor and analyze market conditions, adapting strategies for our dealer network and internal management based on data-driven improvement plans.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will work closely with the Head of Fleet, Product Manager and Marketing Manager. This will require constant attention to network improvement opportunities to further boost sales volume. You’ll manage a team of zone managers and will be a core member of the Netherlands market team, reporting directly to the Commercial Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, present, and agree on annual sales targets for each dealer.
  • Develop a strategy with the financing partner and organize a monthly progress meeting with the partner to create a concrete improvement plan.
  • Collaborate with the chosen financing partner to set up attractive offers for consumers and professionally implement them at the dealerships.
  • Ensure that we have a good dealer inventory financing program and that the dealer network has sufficient stock to achieve their targets.
  • Monitor and analyze periodic dealer reports, providing progress updates and advising the BYD commercial director and dealer management on key improvements and concrete next steps.
  • Define and track Funnel Management KPIs across the assigned dealer network and develop actionable improvement plans.
  • Work with the Sales Activation team to develop unique events to increase local brand awareness for BYD.
  • Motivating and stimulating a team to achieve strong growth together with our partners.

Required skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related education.
  • 8-10 years working experience as Head of Retail, Zone/Sales Manager or Retail Manager in Automotive industry
  • Knowledge of how to concretely develop a business plan into an action plan and have experience in managing a team that strives for maximum results.
  • Customer-centric mindset connected with our mission
  • Excellent Dutch and English language skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and passion about the brands, products, and technologies of the European automotive industry.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize and work proactively with efficient time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly developing, dynamic environment and partner effectively with cross-border/cultural teams.
  • Ability to travel occasionally and maintaining close connections with partners and HQ.
