Are you a driven financial all-rounder who can surprise us with your analytical skills and are you motivated to work together with colleagues in our Finance department to ensure that our financial processes run more smoothly and to further build the team?

This concerns a position in Amsterdam-Zuidoost in a young organization that is in full development and is part of a large, international and ambitious parent organization.


The function

Our client is a rapidly growing organization. The Financial Accountant ensures timely and correct financial administrations for more than 50 entities within the Dutch structure. Furthermore, you support the Manager Financial Accounting – to whom you also report – in realizing the objectives of the department.


This is what you will do:

  • You are responsible for correct, timely and complete financial administration for the monthly/quarterly/annual closing process for various entities;
  • You prepare monthly analyses including comparative figures vs. budget/forecast;
  • You prepare annual accounts and relevant information for the accountant;
  • Together with your Financial Accountant colleagues, you are responsible for the real estate administration;
  • You prepare the tax returns (VPB and VAT) together with the Financial Accountants and external advisors;
  • You are responsible for the administration of our management organization and perform analyses;
  • You perform the appropriate checks when assessing the monthly payroll processing and you provide support to colleagues from People & Culture and the external payroll administrator;
  • You make an active contribution to the further professionalization, standardization and improvement of the financial administration (output) and the financial processes;
  • You provide solicited and unsolicited advice to the Senior Financial Accountant.

In this role, you are responsible for accurate financial administration, where you hold quality in high regard. As an important supporting department for many of our processes, you have an eye for planning and clear communication. You work in a small, close-knit team of 3 financial accountants, which allows you to look beyond your own work domain.

Skills & training

You are driven and you like to get things done. You get energy from booking results and you are analytically minded. You bring expertise and enjoyment to the field of finance and you are a real team player. In addition, you have:

  • HBO work and thinking level, supplemented with a completed education (finance, business economics, accountancy);
  • Excellent knowledge of financial administrative systems and processes, general ledger administration, taxation and annual account processes;
  • Real estate knowledge or very strong affinity with real estate;
  • Good knowledge of Excel;
  • Experience with process optimization and digitalization and automation projects;
  • Knowledge of REMS and/or Power BI is an advantage;
  • Communicative skills in both Dutch and English (verbal and written).
This is what we can offer:

  • A good salary between €5,500 & €6,200 gross per month, based on the knowledge and experience you bring;
  • 27 days off annually and the option to purchase 5 additional vacation days
  • The day after Ascension Day is a day off from work
  • Travel allowance of 0.21 cents per kilometer or full public transport allowance
  • You will receive holiday pay and have a good pension scheme. We also offer you a number of employee insurances
  • You will receive a laptop and telephone to enable you to perform your work properly
  • With a net internet fee of € 16 per month

A full-time workweek means that you will work 40 hours per week. A 36-hour employment contract is negotiable.

We find a good work/life balance important, but also attach great value to good cooperation and learning from each other. It is possible to work from home occasionally, but your presence in the office is highly appreciated.
