Do you enjoy leading and motivating people while driving improvements on the floor? Logistics and warehousing is your passion? We are looking for several Team Leaders for our site in Venray!
In our team, you will work closely with different departments within the organization. You are responsible for the coaching and appraisal of your employees, guiding them through change processes, and ensuring both quality and productivity. With a strong focus on safety and creating a secure workplace, you coordinate operational activities and make sure staffing and time registration are well organized. You also use your analytical and data-driven mindset to interpret information, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate insights into actions.
As a Team Leader, you manage a team of approximately 30–60 logistics employees. You will work two weeks in the morning shift (08:00–14:30) and one week in the evening shift (12:00–20:30), and you report directly to the Warehouse Manager. This is your chance to take the next step in your career!
What you do on a typical day
- You manage the team performance continually, developing associates by providing training and coaching.
- Assigns duties and monitors work completion for accuracy.
- Maintains a safe work environment and fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required.
- Lead start-up activities with cross functional teams.
- Responsible to make recommendations regarding hiring, terminating, performance evaluations, and promotions.
- Daily interaction with internal and external customer on operational level.
- Personnel scheduling to support all shifts and accounts, plan and organize staff workload.
- Maintain documentation of processes that are followed by the department.
- Train associates so an up to date understanding of processes, policies and procedures are maintained.
- Consciously dealing with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water, and fuel consumption
What do you need to succeed at GXO?
- Solid experience managing teams in a similar position and environment.
- Strong focus on safety and creating a secure workplace
- Good communication skills at multiple levels in English
- Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-starting attitude
- Good knowledge of office software, especially Excel (including formulas) to interpret data and carry out small analyses
- Analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to translate insights into actions
