For one of our global clients, we are currently recruiting a VAT Compliance Officer to join their finance operations hub in Maastricht. This role offers the opportunity to work within a diverse team of professionals, supporting VAT compliance across multiple countries in the EMEA region.

You have a background in Accounting or Tax, and ideally 2–3 years of experience in a finance-related role. You’re detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a structured environment. 

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has strong analytical and communication skills.
• Works with precision and attention to detail.
• Is familiar with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, SUN – a plus).
• Has excellent Microsoft Office skills.
• Understands financial accounting processes (OtC, RtR, PtP, IC).
• Is fluent in English, both written and spoken.

This role is part of a Grow-in pathway, meaning candidates who show strong potential but do not yet meet all criteria may be considered for a development track toward full analyst responsibilities

As part of the global VAT team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely VAT reporting for a portfolio of entities. You’ll work within a structured compliance framework and contribute to the smooth execution of tax-related processes. This position is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in finance or tax, who is eager to grow into an analyst-level role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit VAT returns and related tax reports for assigned entities.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and documentation standards.
• Support tax audits by preparing and analyzing relevant data.
• Monitor VAT refund processes and reconcile VAT accounts.
• Stay informed on changes in VAT legislation and assess their impact.
• Assist in onboarding new countries into the shared service VAT process.
• Participate in internal projects and contribute to process improvements.
