Our client is an international media and entertainment giant, offering streaming services to millions of members worldwide who enjoy TV series, documentaries, movies and an exciting gaming experience. We are looking for a Synopsis Writer to join their expanding team.

The ideal candidate is a versatile and creative writer who will join the Product Merchandising team. In this role, you’ll help users navigate a sea of content by summarising movies and television shows with concise, creative and engaging synopses. You will tackle many assignments with enough creative energy to make each synopsis sing. 

Job Profile for Synopsis Writer
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Write concise, engaging, and creative synopses for movies and television shows, helping audiences navigate a wide range of content
• Produce synopses in English for German, Polish, and Dutch films and series, covering genres from reality TV to historical dramas and romantic comedies
• Collaborate closely with Writing Strategists to ensure copy aligns with creative briefs and market requirements
• Apply editorial principles to deliver accurate, inclusive, and culturally resonant synopses
• Conduct research to gather context, ensuring copy reflects a nuanced understanding of each title
• Participate actively in collaborative editing cycles, embracing feedback and refining copy to meet world-class standards
• Contribute to team discussions and knowledge-sharing, supporting global conversations about entertainment

Candidate Profile for Synopsis Writer

• Must be fluent in Dutch, Polish, German & English, both written and spoken
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with proven ability to create compelling, audience-focused content
• Experience writing synopses for streaming platforms, broadcasters, or other media outlets, or editing content such as reviews, articles, or feature stories about film and TV
• Mastery of AP style and strong attention to detail
• Research skills to help you gather context about titles and quickly synthesise information from a variety of sources
• Skilled writer/editor who is an expert on media and entertainment in at least one of the Benelux, German-speaking or Central and Eastern European markets
• Proven proficiency in writing and editing world-class creative content in English and ideally Dutch or Polish is a big advantage
• Knowledge of additional European languages (beyond Dutch, Polish, or German) is a strong advantage
• Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and a selfless approach to contributing to team success
• Passion for film, television, and storytelling, with the ability to adapt tone and style across genres
